AC Milan’s plan in the 2024-25 Supercoppa Italiana was confirmed recently, and the result of last night’s Coppa Italia final means the semi-finals are set in stone.

Juventus won their first major trophy in three years last night at the Stadio Olimpico as they beat Atalanta 1-0 thanks to Dusan Vlahovic’s goal in the first half to lift a record-extending 15th Coppa Italia.

As confirmed by Radio Rossonera, the result in the capital means that the semi-final ties for the Supercoppa have now been confirmed. Juventus-Milan will be one of them, which means that Inter-Atalanta will be the other.

The 2024-25 Super Cup will be played in Saudi Arabia in January next year and the format from the last edition will be confirmed: the two semi-finals and then the final a few days later.

The way that the match-ups were determined was known in advance: the winner of the Coppa Italia would play the second-placed team in the league and the winner of the Serie A would face off against the other cup finalist.

Simone Inzaghi’s side are the only ones present that were also in the last edition, meaning for Milan, Juve and Atalanta it is their first taste of the new format, which guarantees some nice prize money.
